Seems like a great price for a card that's only slightly slower than the 4080 which still costs $1200. I'm curious how much farther will AMD cards drop and if Nvidia will start as well.

It's raw perfomance is actually slightly faster than the 4080 in most games, but it cannot compete in raytracing. It also lacks frame generative technology such as DLSS3 . Also, FSR2 is visually inferior to DLSS2. Overall it's an inferior card due to a lack of innovative features but it is not slower than a 4080 unless you are only referring to raytracing.

FSR2 at 4k is generally regarded as being close enough that you can't tell the difference, and if you're buying the 7900xtx I have to presume you're playing at 4k.
In any case, this is a bonkers price when you consider the raw performance this card delivers. There's a rare game here and there where it actually competes with the 4090(though is obviously slower on average), and it's literally half the price in this particular sale.

Who honestly uses Raytracing? You still lose about 50% in performance if you turn it on. For something that is almost visually indistinguishable from rasterization. Also, you shouldn't need to generate fake frames with a 7900 XTX, making that point moot. FSR2/DLSS3 are good for budget cards.

It's close to DLSS in still shots, but it's far inferior in regards to motion, which is obviously important while gaming. Digital Foundry recently released a video about it, and I've compared it myself against DLSS in games that support both. The motion artifacts are really distracting. I refuse to buy a 40 series cards due to the ridiculous pricing (I'm considering a 7900XTX), but saying FSR 2 is comparable to DLSS 2 is flat out wrong. FSR is very noticeably inferior to both DLSS 2 and XeSS. AMD wouldn't be blocking DLSS and XeSS implementation in AMD sponsored titles if it were comparable.

Mine hasn't done that in months. But I'm running Linux with AMDGPU driver so ymmv.
Hmm... I updated to 23.7.1 and tried the following: (see the attached image, two screenshots side by side)
When the refresh rate is set to 60Hz, the GPU board power shows 39W -- good
When the refresh rate is set to 120Hz (or 100Hz), the GPU board power shows 103W -- still not fixed for me.
Again, sorry for hijacking the thread. My card is not even from ASRock. It's a XFX card.

Edit: I'm wrong. It says that at the select payment screen until you select zip as your payment method.
