It mentions its easy to remove residue. Anyone have any experience with wallpaper removal? Don't want to lose my rental deposit because I destroyed the paint behind the wallpaper.

Don't do it then for any large area. Apartment paint is often bottom barrel and will peel easily

You could try to match it at Sherman Williams for touchups if you insist on putting up this vinyl

If you rent for more than a year they will have to repaint house to rent to someone else, check local laws, they may not be able to ding you for a paint job.

This. They always have to repaint anyway from what I understand but I have put this type of paper sold on Amazon up in numerous places and I haven't found it to be strong enough anywhere to remove paint, in fact my problem is the opposite in that after about 6 months or so some of the edges will start to lift and you have to reseal. Honestly though it's a great and easy idea to freshen up a space or just cover something you don't like. Worst case scenario, use it as shelf liner
