My SO got this for our bedroom last year and I ended up getting the a Toshiba variant from Woot in May for my office. Very solid AC performance, but the remote controller works glitchy as hell at times, especially when trying to turn it on/off. The MSmarthome app is really glitchy too with shutting it on and off and scheduling basically works half the time unless you set it up with 24 hour time. Alexa integration is trash if you are not the primary account holder of the unit, but otherwise works. And finally, the temperature reading, from my unscientific tests, reads about 3-4 degrees lower than it really is, so an offset would be necessary if using it with home automation stuff. Agree with everything KevoD said too. I bought camper seal foam tape from Home Depot to augment the sealing (the default adhesive is super messy to remove), and it's worked great so far.

If you can deal with those first-world problems, highly recommended!
Bought this when it was posted last month and have enjoyed it so far. Cools great (temp goes as low as 60 degrees). Only two concessions are that it periodically gets kind of loud for 10-20 seconds during regular operation (without warning) which can be a bit annoying if you're on the phone, and the insulation where the hose attaches to the window bracket could be a little better to reduce exterior noise and air flowing in when the unit is off, but otherwise have no other complaints. I imagine the insulation issue is going to be universal for any portable AC, though.
It generates a lot of heat, that's for sure. It's nothing like a space heater. You can just imagine all of the heat that goes out the hose in A/C mode is reversed into the room. It will warm up a medium-sized room very quickly.

The downsides of the heat function are:

It only works if the temp outside is above 42 degrees. So depending on your climate this may only be useful for chilly spring and autumn days.
It generates a lot of condensate so you have to hook a hose up to the highest drain and empty the bucket every now and then.
When it's cold out, and the unit is not in use but still hooked up to the window, a lot of cold air is going to come in through the duct hose. This can also cause a lot of condensation to build up underneath the unit where the cold air pours out onto the floor. You really have to pull it out of the window and shut the window when it's not in use if it's cold outside.
Make sure you wrap the duct hose with the included sleeve if using heat mode, to prevent condensate from building on the duct hose.

Overall I would say it's good for chilly spring / autumn days where you need a little extra warmth but don't want to turn on the furnace, but not so useful for very cold days like in the dead of winter.

It has questionable reviews, but FWIW I bought mine about a year ago and absolutely love it. Will be buying another soon for the future baby room. South-facing upstairs rooms get hot quick.

Similar behavior with the 12k Midea window unit - it's been great overall (VERY quiet when it's not working hard to maintain a big temp difference), but the compressor has some kinda odd behavior at times where it & the fans will throttle up then back down a bit.. not the end of the world though.

Remote is also kind of finnicky and takes some getting used to.

It's weird how different people have different experiences with basically the same product. While I don't have this product I have two of their "U" shaped window air conditioners and I find their app works flawless for us along with Alexa . We also have temp and humidity monitor on other side of the room from the a/c's and they display the same temperature. Maybe the temp readings correlate with the insulation around the window . The u shape ac's have good insulation and I have no gaps anywhere in my window opening

I also have this unit from last year. Seeking advices how do you connect the drain hose and where to drain to? I used a plastic container but the drain bottom is too low and container is too tall.

It has a built in pump but you are using the wrong drain. There is another port slightly higher that will pump when it is full. Take a look at the manual

Yeah to be honest, I feel like that was mostly a review of the Toshiba unit which is a carbon copy (I don't know if there are any significant differences) and my unit is refurbished which might add to that. The temps are off according to my ecobee sensors for both units, however. Alexa/Google work, but after they switched to the MSmarthome app, Alexa integration suffered for it (read reviews in the skills page, it's at 1-star still I think)

You don't need to connect a hose unless using dehumidifier mode, in regular A/C mode these units shouldn't generate enough condensation to need manual draining.

Appreciate the heads up on this deal. I was looking at this a week ago, I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger back then. With these savings, it nearly brings it down to the same price as other less-efficient single hose portable AC units out there.

You took off the default adhesive and put camper seal foam? that works good?

Man the default adhesive really mess me up, hard to put it on it gets all over your fingers, and gets stuck to the window if you don't line it up perfectly, lol in videos they did it so perfectly and never mention that problem.

Yep, at least for the Toshiba one in my office. I was following the video initially and one comment made me regret my application (and I should've remembered this when I was helping my SO install hers in our bedroom). Since Woot didn't include the extra tapes (and some other missing accessories I didn't need), they shaved $70 off it! I was still left without enough tape, however.

With the camper foam, I kinda went crazy with it and sealed the unit window edges and the hose fixture itself. Basically no gaps and the cooling has been perfect so far. The tape is a little less sticky than the included one, so you'll have to be patient with it, but in turn leaves NO residue. But for a $5ish dollar big roll of foam tape, it's doing a great job! I'm going to do the same for the Midea in our bedroom since we moved and there wasn't much leftover tape included.

For current owners, can the dual hose assembly be mounted vertically instead of horizontally?

If you look at the product page, they say that you can use it in vertical windows as well 19in. to 63in. tall
