These probably won't last long. I had to order one! The last time these Penn combos were up I bought 2. Both were 7' one piece rod and size 5000 reels. Dad caught a 10 pound drum carp without issue. Those combos were $28 each, but this is still a deal at $38 even though it's a size 4000 reel. Probably still a good catfish pole!
lol haters
edit one discrepancy between the 5000 series Penn combo and this deal's 4000 series combo is one was medium heavy rod while this one I just purchased is a medium rod.

I ordered one as I was too thoughtful last time whether I need this or not, when it was $28...
Guys! I'm not a fisherman so no knowledge at all. I'd like to go fishing in the canals that goes through Sacramento, or American river/Sacramento river etc with my kids. Please suggest what else do I need to buy to have all I need to catch something in freshwater?
Would really appreciate if someone provides as detail as possible where and what to get for cheap. As I'm absolutely not sure that fishery will become our children favorite thing to go for. But they asked me to go fishing every time we go by lake or pond.

For lakes/ponds
Split shots, bobbers, bell
Then just use live bait, worms, minnows, crawfish, wax worms.
Go from there if they like it then you start getting a bit more advanced.
