YMMV but I allowed my free year membership from AAA to expire. It originally was through a T-Mobile promotion. I randomly got mail today stating another complimentary free year would be given to me by AAA
Here is the letter
" I'm writing today to thank you for being a Member and to inform you that you've been chosen to receive an additional year of coverage within our
"T-Mobile Year on Us" program. It's our way of saying "Thank You" for being a valued AAA Member.
Your FREE 12-month membership applies to your current membership level including any associate(s) on your account and will be valid throush 7/1/2024.
It's that simple. There is nothing you need to do. You get an additional 12 months of AAA membership, FREE. You'll receive all the benefits that accompany the membership, including our superior roadside assistance! Don't forget to take advantage of the multiple member discounts, we have to offer. You can sit back and watch the savings start to pile up!
Your new membership card should arrive within 7-10 business days."

save that money and pay $15 a year with your auto insurance company and you get unrestricted much faster towing service.
it's not like you need towing everyday so no need to worry. i have been driving for 25 years with regular maintenance and I have only towed my car only twice.
like i said. same applied to your car insurance as well. they only tow to the nearest "qualified" repair facility.
"Sorry, it appears your account is ineligible for this promotion. Your denial reason is:
Looks like your current rate plan is not eligible for this promotion. For help, T-Mobile customer dial 611 from your handset or call 1-800-937-8997."
The roadside assistance is the worst of all. First you need to pay for basic only 5 miles tow for $60 or $110 plus membership for regular tow but if you ask and read all the comments on their website, you wait 2 to 9 hour minimum for a guy to show up.
You can pay $15 extra for 12 months with your insurance company and you get unrestricted road side assistance and you wait far less amount of time.
AAA is like those 2% off coupon for those who don't know what a deal actually means!
A claim is a claim, whether or not it's roadside is irrelevant. I've gotten amazing discounts on rentals and decent ones for hotels as well. Only 2%-3%? No way.
The minimum AA takes after reading all the comments is around 5 hours. by then it is a danger for your life with super hot or freezing cold weather.

That's your experience, not mine. I've never even had to wait 45 minutes. There's a reason I pay for the higher package. It pays for itself in 2-3 uses per year and had several other perks. But then again I don't assume my experience is necessarily the same as millions of others. It works for me that's all that matters. I actually got AAA bc of the amount of roadside claims I previously had through auto insurance addon. My agent raised the issue. I haven't had to use them lately but I wouldn't be surprised. Service standards are plummeting everywhere. Still, I've never wasted more than 45 mins to an hour waiting for a tow. May the odds remain in my favor!
Read all the massive endless complaint posts on AAA social media page about the wait for road side being hours up to 12 hours . One may freeze or baked to death waiting that many hours for $60 to $120 annual fee
You quoted my post but either didn't read it or just must have a problem with comprehension. It works for *me* and *I* do not share the complaints you are referring to.
