Where is the link for the 4tb for $230¿
or just get two 2tb samsungs and run in raid. My motherboard has 4 slots, most modern have at least two. Unless your getting it for a PS5.

Not sure why this is getting more likes than the SN850X which is superior, faster and cheaper. Especially with multiple Cashback options which drop it down to basically the price of a 2 TB 670p.

and no don't say heatsink as a heatsink can be purchased for under $10 still making it cheaper than this

This or the 4tb WD - BLACK SN850X for $230. 2tb should be good enough for me, but 4tb is tempting.
Honestly, go for the WD. 980 Pros have an issue (0E bug) with the firmware thats "supposedly" patched earlier this year, but people are still not sure if it solves it completely, and conincendentally affected drives starts having big discounts also around then.

What's the manufacture date need for updated firmware? I have no way to update before ps5 install
Anything after 3/2022 is likely safe out of the box. They've actually patched this as early as 11/21 and 1/22.

It was MORE than a year ago. Any new drive purchased from a store would have a manufacture date in the 2023 range (stamped on the sticker).

It's amazing how many people are referencing that one stupid author who reported on the issue a year late

That one didn't have the heat sink. This is cheaper than Samsung even with the student discount for the one with the heatsink.
Does the heat sink make a big difference for ps5 usage

Do these still have the defect where you must update the firmware first, so it doesn't make your PS5 crash or was that a similar looking model?

I just picked up my 2TB Samsung 980 PRO with Heatsink at Best Buy. On the side of the box the Production Date is listed as 04/24/2023. It was made in Korea. I assume it is on the latest firmware.
