You'll get better performance gaming on a non-integrated GPU core i5 which when watercooled can do 5.4ghz+ all day long on a single core.
This beast will be lucky to do spec.
The only reason someone would go with an I5 over this is because that's all the money they have
TLDR is basically 12th cpu memory control is not as good as 13th gen's. So on DDR5 which is very aggressive on OC/XMP, 13th gen cpu has better chance. It's not much MB related, but the cpu where the memory controller is at according to that video.
The good news is Intel both 12th and 13th gen can used MB of DDR4, other than a bit slow it's perfect fine. Unless you're in the extreme performance build scenario one can hardly appreciate the DDR5 speed, besides the pricey factor.
If you try to use a 12th gen cpu and you don't really care about DDR5's OC/XMP speed, then you're better off taking DDR4 MB instead, much more stable and expandable. DDR5 with OC/XMP the default frequency is in 4000mt/s to 4800mt/s, not much more than DDR4. It's the OC/XMP that made DDR5 speed much higher to > 6000mt/s even 7000-8000mt/s when OC/XMP is done right plus a 13th gen cpu.
