like in terms of organic chemistry or what it means as someone who eats it? Well, they have less calories than sugar, and they wont spike your blood sugar so you wont get a sugar rush and crash most likely, but some of them like maltitol can cause diarrhea. For the schizos who will inevitably post here still angry they failed chem 2, sugar alcohols are well considered safe.
In terms of biochemistry, "sugar alcohols" compared to "sugars" do not cyclize (form a ring). they are "cool" tasting because the crystal structure is higher energy than being dissolved, so they absorb some heat when you eat them in large quantities, like in keto cookies.
Huh? It says right on the back, 11g sugar alcohols. They have maltitol, a sugar alcohol which is arguably harder on people's digestive tracts than the erythritol in quest bars.
"Maltitol is a low-calorie sweetener, but unlike erythritol, it has a high glycemic index and will cause a spike in blood sugar"
"After eating maltitol, some people experience stomach pains and gas. It also can act similarly to a laxative and cause diarrhea."
Both flavors are decent, probably the best options for Think Protein bars. I've bought them before and I bought both again today. I mainly go with One Bars or Quest bars but if the price is right on these, I'll buy them no problem

Better than Quest bars imo. No artificial shit in here or sugar alcohols, if you care about that. They're my go-to and usually grab them when they get down to ~$1/each

I'm not a health freak by any means, but I do weight train and try to make sure that my protein intake isn't coupled with anything TOO negative. These bars are some of the best out there in my opinion, yielding high protein without having to choke down a bad tasting bar. Sugar content is there, but not crazy high.
