Constantly glitching, no volume number, always resets itself a couple times a week. Sometimes it won't turn on... It might be 2 years old. It's just junk. I would never recommend it. Hopefully I find something else today

I've had no issues with my Hisense. Purchased in 2013 and it's still going strong. It doesn't have Roku OS, just whatever "Smart" OS that was available for TV's at the time which seems to be very clunky and I've never really used it, I prefer to just add a Fire TV stick and I'm good to go.

You're basing your review on this TV by way of one you purchased two years ago?

Are you sure you have a fair assessment here?

Even the new Hisense TVs i have do a hell of a lot better with a Google TV stick instead of the built in software.

Was actually thinking about this as a dual monitor setup for work.

Are these bright enough for outdoor usage? I want a cheap TV for outside that is bright enough to see. The sun wouldn't be on it.
No. I have a 75 inch that is facing the window And I have to close the curtains cause the screen is so dim I can't see nothing.

Treat Hisense as a budget brand, and should be priced accordingly. The H8, a former flagship series, was advertised as having HDR even though it never worked properly, for years and generations. And multiple stories of parts dying just outside of warranty, myself included. I was lucky to have an extended warranty that paid me out, because the panel was totally discontinued and couldn't be replaced.

You get what you pay for with hdr, they technically have hdr but they lack the brightness to produce true hdr therefore you'd have to buy an h9 or u8 model.

Warranty wise you'll get the China lottery with any cheaper TV even many name brand tvs fail because China

Got this model a few months ago, had weird crazy wavy lines all over the lcd panel...had to return...never again. Numerous others had same issue on Reddit.

This wasn't a brightness issue. It wasn't programmed correctly, so enabling it would cause really bad flickering. Hisense Canada was offering to work with US customers to fix it via beta firmware, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Is the built in chromecast good enough or should I purchase the 4k one and hook it up? Or should I go with TCL 4 series from Best Buy since they are also on sale?

My roku hisense does the same and the image looked deep fried for now reason and it would only fix itself on a system reset
