If you're just looking to play around and test the hobby I'd stick to the mini 2 and the phone screen controller honestly works quite well. Of course this is an awesome setup and good for the price, just throwing my recs out for a beginner setup. I have the 2 and for what I do It's perfect.

The one for $609 is Mini 3, not Mini 3 Pro.
