If you over 30 and played the old school ones, you'll like it.

I finished this game just last week! It was my first ever Metroid game, and I loved every minute of it. It can be a bit difficult though (at least it was for me). The boss fights were a highlight for me, but they were very tough. Young people may pooh-pooh and claim it was a walk in the park, but for my mid-40s aging bones that bit wasn't that easy at all. Once you figure out each boss' moves and how to react to each move it quickly becomes easy; but you'll die a bunch of times till muscle memory kicks in - and then you'll be wondering why the hell it took you so long to beat the boss. One tip - use a dedicated controller (like a pro controller). The joy-cons are serviceable for rest of the game, but they won't cut it for boss fights.

The levels are expertly crafted and searching and finding hidden items is fun. I did get lost a couple of times, but eventually you learn to read the map for clues on where to go next.

Only when I reached the final boss, did I resort to guides to find all the collectibles I had missed and get 100% items in each area. Some of them were tricky and it was fun picking them up. I did resort to youtube videos to look up how to get some of them. And for the final boss, I looked up youtube videos in advance for hints on how to beat the final boss. By that time, I knew the final boss is going to be tough, and I didn't have the patience to figure out all counterattacks myself. When I did play the final boss, I could tell it would have been the most challenging fight in the game, had I tried to figure it out myself and gone in blind. But since I already knew what to expect and what to do, it was actually easier than some other boss fights. Like I said - I just had to die enough times for muscle memory to get built up

The game barely has a story, it's more of a lore. It's an excuse to just play the game. If you like story driven games, this won't be it. But if you like an expertly crafted gameplay experience, I would highly recommend this game.

never finished this game, found the exploration tedious, and the stealth aspect frustrating

i'm an average gamer, but for some reason the combat and parry system never clicked for me

i got to the final boss and gave up after 5 attempts , maybe i'll go back one of the days
