Every time this sale comes up I feel the need to comment. By far the best experience I've had owning any router/system and I've owned many. If you don't need the 2.5gbps port, this is a great set that will give you no issues whatsoever if your experience follows mine. Other than the very occasional firmware upgrade it's been 100% set it and forget it.

I have had great success with my Deco X60 3-pack from Costco. Great speeds, never goes down, good roaming performance, ethernet backhaul, etc.

unless you need a router today I'd wait for WiFi 7
this is the set I've been eyeing for last couple years and actually missed buying it at BF last year.

I got this set about 9 months ago from Costco and it's been rock solid.

I use the wireless backhaul and the coverage and speed have been so good for my 2300 sq ft home that I haven't set up the 3rd unit yet.

I use the guest network as a dedicated 2.4ghz network, and it's worked well for my 2.4ghz only devices.

The app is convenient and easy to use. No complaints so far.

I just installed this with my ATT Fiber after having an Orbi mesh system. You will need to have the modem running and connect the TP-link to the router via ethernet. You will need to set up the ATT modem as either IP Passthrough or DMZ Plus mode. Instructions [att.com]. You can leave the TP-Link in router mode. People say to turn off the Wifi broadcast of the ATT modem, but I have left mine on with a different network name and have had no issues when I was running my Orbi. Hint if you've never switched routers, rename the TP-Link as whatever network you're using with the same password. This way you won't have to reconnect all of your devices to the TP-Link. All of your devices will recognize the new router since it's the same name and password.

Definitely still need the modem, regardless of whether it's coax or fiber from the street.

Decided to go with this deal through Costco, over an eero through Amazon. It might cost a little more but Costco makes it feel a tad safer and seems this has more of a positive following than the eero's.

It's always surprising to me that this works for some reason lol, and I've been using Wi-Fi routers since the old days.
But it finally feels like I've grown out of touch with the technology, suppose that's just how it goes? 🤔

This is what I was looking for. The 2.4ghz devices. So I can just set up a guest network, and I can choose to only use 2.4ghz on that?

Yup, that's exactly what I did. You only have access to 2 SSIDs (main and guest network), so I have the main as both 2.4 and 5ghz, and the guest as 2.4 only. I haven't run into any network compatibility issues so far with this set up.

I've heard from other people that the router is smart enough to detect 2.4ghz only devices for people that connect it to a dual band SSID, but I didn't want to risk the headache.

I appreciate that. Just bought them. I currently have eero, but older versions and I've been having so many issues as of late. So wanted to try something else.
