Is this better / worse / same than some of the competitors? I know this is a name brand but a lot of reviews recommend other brands at or cheaper than this price range. First vacuum sealer, would use for meats, fish, cheese, etc

id like to know this as well. i jumped on the deal because ive been watching for one as my old one died and its just about sausage making season for me... but there ARE a lot of other options out there and id rather not overpay for a name.

the big negative for me is that the roll storage on foodsaver sealers is intentionally small to encourage you to buy their name brand overpriced rolls.

I've decide to wait for the nesco that everyone rates highly - this foodsaver model looks good but doesnt do double seal and you put in the bags and it starts sealing, no alignment then seal. the anova pro is on sale for prime day but i'll still wait for nesco to drop in price

would you mind sharing the nesco model you are referring to? i process aobut 8 deer and countless fish a year, so spending more on something that will last and save me time/money is worth it.

Nesco Deluxe Food VS-12. its $120 now but it seems to go down to $90's in various parts of the year. Youtube has many reviews on it.
