Most dash cams will have difficulty clearly capturing license plates under majority of conditions. I'm happy to be proven wrong, and I'll happily buy the ones that can.

My recommendation is if your dash cam records audio, read the license plate out loud if you can.

N2 probably my fav dash cam to update. i love the dual cams. Apparently the thieves loved it too cuz they smashed my car window and took it lol

I own three Vantrue dashcams that have been running solidly for many years. I've had no issues with any of them.

I've had the N2 Pro for a couple of years (paid 199, so good price on it at 119), and it has been great. No need to wire a rear camera to see the backend too, just make sure you have a clear view through the car to see out the rear window.

Spouse has the 4k one, debating if I should get that or the step down for myself. Anyone tried N2 on a small sedan with narrow rear view?

Good little dash cam we used it on a road trip from southeast to Northern California recorded everything really well.

I got the E1 lite on my mustang since November last year. It's currently on sale for 71.99 too. I imagine these others are even better. The mic and video and night vision are quite good, aside from slight halos from lights at night. That could also be my windshield since I have a clear tint on it. I'm tempted to upgrade. Anyone try the N4 yet?

Had good experience with prior Vantrue model dash cam. May want to upgrade to one of these newer models.

My own personal experience is that while I have both front and rear, the front camera has been the only one that saved my ass a couple times when it came to insurance claims. I'm sure the rear can come in handy but I'd imagine not as often as the front.
