2TB Samsung 970 Evo Pro Gen 3 NVMe for $66 after 20% off warehouse deal like new. Lowest price ever for 2TB 2280 nvme. I was worried about the bricking issue with the older units, but Samsung has a patch for it now, so should be good.
Here is a great video by JayzTwoCents addressing the issue and how to fix it:

"Like new" I'm guessing people playing musical chairs with various SSD deals that have been popping off and Amazon trying to resell all the returns.

Was tempted to grab the 1tb version but I noticed they show as "good" or "very good" rather than "like new" and with storage medium that concerns me.

All like new amazon purchases have literally been like brand new to me. Unopened packaging, paperwork, etc. Never had any issue with like-new items from Amazon but there's always the easy return.

How does one find out if this will work with my laptop? I'm wondering about compatability which crucial has a website to validate compatibiliy but don't see such a tool for Samsung

What you're describing is very good and below condition... From the hundreds of items I've bought from Amazon warehouse in the last decade, like new has literally been brand new. Maybe I've been lucky. Only items described as very good and below have looked somewhat used but I'll be honest even very good have looked new, again in my experience. I don't believe you are able to buy something use it for 1500hrs then return it and Amazon say it's like new. I won't pretend to know their exact methodology to determine like new vs very good but I think something kept that long or even kept for x amount of time is no longer considered like new

I'm not worried since it's sold by Amazon. I'll load crystalinfo and do some tests to see how the drive is. It's unlikely to be abused in 30 days. if anything I hope they updated the firmware for me!

1500 hours is double the 30 day return policy. Although it's possible for an item to be bought and returned more than once...

Crucial 2TB Gen 4 is $75 brand new so is it really worth it?
