The only drawback is the monthly subscription. So I am looking to switch to Eufy for non-monthly cameras/doorbells.
Arlo also has SmartHub/Base Station for local recording w/ either MicroSD card or USB drive (each device type only support either micro sd or usb drive, check the model). https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arl...7710#M2104
But, I've also been wondering about Eufy (Thinking of returning the Arlo we bought for my relatives)... they seem cheaper and looks nicer? I'm torn.

I do have the hub and honestly it's quite complicated to access the videos on the hub when you are away from home. I have read through a lot comments regarding Eufy products and willing to give it a shot at least for no monthly charge.
There's various updates to this story if you search around, some youtube vids and such. I'm considering one for myself anyway because it'll just be for an apartment use so I'm not particularly concerned about what gets filmed across the hallway, but FYI.

Wouldn't local storage be safer than a cloud subscription in this instance? Or is there still a risk of accessing client data via eufy into client hubs?
