Need something for this winter that will power our hot water heater and fridge. Will this cut it? Is something from Harbor freight better?
Check how much power your appliances require but I can't imagine this won't do what you want and more. This is a fantastic generator and a great price. I've had one for a few years and I'm extremely happy with it.
I recommend swapping out the dipstick for one with a magnet on the end to help pull particles out of the oil and also make sure you follow the break in procedure. Once a month give it a good once over and run it for a bit and you should be good to go for any emergency.

Thanks I really appreciate it. I'd jump on this but i'm not getting the extra 10% coupon so holding for now.

So the coupon is for one outdoor/garden item only. I'm guessing you may have redeemed it on something else...if so, you *might* be able to cancel that order and apply the coupon to this generator (not sure).
I bought the 6250W version of this generator a couple months ago from Amazon. I know they have a no return policy on their generators, but I would love to return the one I bought (still brand new in sealed box) and buy this one. The electric start alone is worth upgrading for. Does anybody know if there is a way to do this?

Haven't used it on anything else... Unless it was months ago. Lame! Thanks for the info

I'm in the same boat, I got mine for about $700 after tax which is slick, but this is totally worth the extra $100. I think we're out of luck though.
