The RAM btw is expandable to 64 GB (it's not soldered) so you can swap for 2x 32GB DDR5 4800MHz sticks if you wanted one day.

This is the spec I wanted but no way I'm paying over $2k for a computer. My guess is within 1~1.5 year, this will be around $1300~1600 (including CB/Amex Offer/etc...).

Not really. The two components you can upgrade for cheap, memory and SSD, you should have bought the minimum config and upgraded yourself. SSD's are SO CHEAP right now compared to what Dell charges.
