I've been doing some research into these WiFi mesh systems. For this system, it's good for people who wire them together because if you use the 5GHz band for backhaul you get slower speeds on the 5GHz band. If you use the 6GHz band for the backhaul they need to be pretty close to each other with pretty much line of site. If you don't want to wire them together you might be better off with the XT12. It doesn't have 6E's 6GHz speeds, but it has an extra 5GHz band for the backhaul. Also, I guess Asus is known for buggy firmware so if nothing is wrong with your system you should not update to the latest unless others have properly tested it.

Very astute. I came to the same conclusions. The firmware on the XT9's has been solid. The problem and blessing with ASUS routers is they got so many settings it can get you head spinning. And there is no manual.

I have always used Asus routers before switching to mesh packs but always used the old RT routers with developer firmware. Possible with these mesh Asus systems?
