If you tip a fridge or freezer on it's side to transport, be sure to set it upright for minimum 24 hrs before plugging in.

It's 11 cu ft and look at the height. It isn't a very large stand alone freezer. A real niche at this size.

Not a Costco Concierge product. Only 90 day return window and then you'll have to deal with Hamilton Beach, which has been bad in my personal experience.
I bought a toaster oven directly from Hamilton beach recently. It arrived damaged. I emailed them and they did eventually replace the broken piece, but they made it sound like it wasn't their responsibility and that they were doing me some special favor.

If you've never used a fridge with no auto defrost before you're in for a treat. They're super annoying.
Part of the reason why you buy a deep freezer is so that the freezer does not auto-defrost. Although very convenient for your in house fridges the auto-defrost causes issues with long term food storage. Food lasts a lot longer when it is not subject to the auto-defrost feature of a standard, in home refirgerator so this is really good for any longer term food storage needs.

Yep, I was going to buy this in store until I saw this. Dealbreaker for me. Currently using the convertible Samsung upright unit which is about the same size but priced higher…working great so far but was hoping to add some more freezer space in the basement.

I'd bet that also applies to non-temperature controlled garages. My garage is attached to the house and has hvac in it. It's not going to be extremely cold or hot like a detached garage may be.
Most attached garages are not conditioned, you have a unicorn.

A few of these were on clearance at my Costco for $199. Guess I should have bought one.

Their customer service is horrible. Their 800# customer service number, which is also the same number as their tech support number, is automated and sends you in countless loops. When you do finally get into a the correct queue to leave your number for a customer service agent to call you, they never call! You go onto their social media and they ask you to DM them your information for a representative to contact you (it will be email, they never call), all you will get is someone sending nothing but canned responses. Once you're on the 4th or 5th reply, they dont even look at the previous responses and send you the canned first or second response again.

Frost causes the compressor to stop working because it insulates the thermostat from reading what the actual internal temp is. I've had instances where my food were all wet and defrosted due to ice tricking the fridge into thinking it was still cold.

Wether you like it or not you'll have to empty this thing once in a while and let the ice melt or it'll stop working.

Yep, never buying another one. Our upright freezer is 20 years old (but pretty efficient) and the yearly defrosting is super annoying.

Saw this at Costco a few weeks ago and was considering it. For the folks that have one, are you able to change the door open side?
