Maybe because it's a mediocre speaker and the MSRP is ridiculously inflated?

The MSRPs of many products are overinflated, but it's still hard to reconcile your speculation with the comments and reaction this same deal got last month.

I have it from a slickdeal maybe 2-3 years ago - still my top performer because it's so easy to lug around the house or outdoors and has excellent battery life. I'm no audiophile by any means but it does (to my ears) eliminate any tinniness you get from smaller speakers without bass when listening to speech (I am always on some kind of podcast). I do not need another one of this size but seriously debating whether I should get this as a gift.

im still wondering why did Samsung buy harman/kardon? its not the same quality like their quality has some what degraded

Last month had fake reactions. Also after prime day and other sales, people have sale fatigue

I bought the Onyx Studio 5. The battery life deteriorated pretty rapidly. The bass sounds good, but I would recommend getting a Soundcore product.

I have one. And waiting for the blue one on sale to get one more, as they can work in a pair.
Decent quality, look and sound.
As for me, harman has one of the best sound quality on the market.
