1 sells for $12.99 across retailers, so 2 for $15 is a good deal. But, that's only if you need pods. Still cheaper per load to buy regular liquid detergent.

Disagree on the plastic part. The pods are made out of polyvinyl alcohol which is a type of plastic. These chemicals are flushed down the drain and don't degrade just like regular plastic.

If you are really trying to be plastic conscious buy powder detergent. It has its own cons but better from an environmental standpoint

Pods use a lot less plastic, you get cost certainty per load, and you're not shipping around the water weight.

Theoretically, yeah, we should get lower prices for that but...

how does they use less plastic? if pods are more concentrated then they can ship the concentration in regular tubs and if they are not doing it then it this is just BS move.
and if they are of same concentration then pods would end up being more on the poorer side as there is large vacant space between pods whereas in liquid it would be completely occupied so not vacant space between the detergent.

These have been on clearance lately for 3.50 at various Walmarts. The clearance groups on Facebook have been full of reports/pics of scores in that regard. The 72? Or 76 pack is also on clearance for $5. YMMV, but it may be worth a look to check for them at your local Walmart and scan the price, for those who have the time/opportunity.
