It depends on your primary use case.

If backpack camping, this is not what you want - it rolls up rather large because it is both air and some foam. The foam in this gives it a better ground insulation value, and arguably sleeps more comfortably, but better primary use would be car/trailer camping instead. If this is the case, this would be a viable alternative to a packing cot.

Most recent review was from Nov 2021. Is this worth it for the price? Need to go camping soon and a cot seems like overkill (heavier and bulkier) for me. Any suggestions from those that camp outdoors? I'll probably use a tarp under it to avoid punctures.

Lite and 2.65 pounds may not compute to some. My 30 degree sleeping bag weighs 14.6 oz for example.

For self inflating if you're not overly concerned about weight I'd guess this is not a bad deal.

True, its not lightweight, but comparing a pad to a bag doesn't make much sense either

Yea, I didn't do a good job at explaining that but you can still get pads at the same weight as my bag is what I horribly tried to say 😂 This also weighs more than my tent.

Lite is subjective I guess. Don't want to be that guy.

Don't buy thermarest. They have poor warranty policies and the quality has declined a lot. Just Google Cascade Designs (the manufacturer) in Seattle to see the reviews.

This one weighs to much. The best UL sleeping pad is Nemo Tensor. If your car camping then this could be a good option. I have a thermarest pad that is 25 yrs old and it's still good, but it's not much over a pound.

I have an older version of this that I've had for about 15 years. No issues with durability. However, besides being a bit heavy, it's too thin to be comfortable. 1.5 inches isn't enough thickness. You can inflate it so that you don't touch the ground, but then it's too firm.

I have my dad's old OG Therm-a-rest and it's almost thirty years old and still works great!

Agreed, these 1.5 inch aren't thick enough for my taste. I got a 2.5 inch or 3 a few years back and once you feel the difference, you'd be surprised how much better that feels. I almost bit because my old one is leaking air, but I'd wait for something that's thicker. I went on a canoe trip last year and everyone with these thin style really seemed interested in a more comfy version.

If you are carrying it in your car then who cares, get whatever will be the closest to your bed at home

seems like it might not be bad for point to point camping with your vehicle and a cot. I have a Klymit that I use on my cot, but a little more padding wouldn't hurt...then again I'm not gonna spend $70 just cuz.

Rookie mistake: buying a pad this thin! Don't do it! Minimum 3 inch thick pad if you want to actually sleep.
