Starting Jan 1, 2023, CA has a $2000 limit for exemption from sales on bullion. One gold bar is under the tax-exempt limit, and two qualify for no tax. Earlier this limit was $1500 since Jan1, 2009

Where do you liquidate this should you want to cash out? What kind of fees do you end up paying?

FYI: There is never been sales tax on buying gold/silver (especially if it's above $1000) except for New Jersey, Vermont, Maine, Tennessee, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Mississippi, New Maxico & Hawaii residents.

You only pay on Capital Gain tax (if you sell in profit)

How progressive, taxing the people who can't afford it.

Seems like no tax on 2, but tax on one? I don't got the cash to buy 2 right now.
Depending on your state they may or may not tax gold/silver purchases over a certain dollar amount. In my state it's 1000$.

No and yes. It fluctuates a lot so you can make or lose a lot much like the stock market. But, imo stocks are better for one reason ease of selling.

Wtf am I going to do with a bar when I want cash. Most places aren't just going to give you a straight up cash value. There's going to be fees which to me just makes it worse than stocks. Even though in theory it's a lot lower risk than stocks since gold is always worth something.

I ordered 100 of these last time. After delivery, I called customer service and told them it was delivered to the wrong address (which was a blatant lie). But they believed me and gave me a $190,000 shop card. Nobody beats Costco's customer service!

I am not sure why people want to buy gold for investement. I have not found a way to sell gold anywhere close to the spot price. I can sell my stocks depending on brokerage from 0-under 50 a trade.

The additional 4% back on the credit card as well as executive membership is the cherry on top for this deal.
What cc gives you 4% at Costco?

Unless it's a family pack of gold bars, it's no dice from me.
