Isn't eufy the company that was sending all user data back to China including wifi traffic?
Idk about China, but they were caught sending "local only info" to cloud servers and then lied about it repeatedly despite overwhelming proof, then tried to blame the people who exposed them, then said they have to have the data for local only video (stupid), and then fessed up with a really crappy apology.

I've not seen anyone on SD treat them like Apple.

Anker has some high quality products that are much more reliable and durable than Apple's. Key word is "some". Product teardowns on things like powerbanks will often show their build quality.

Anker is way cheaper than Apple, so it doesn't have Apple's prices.

Anker has trust issues and has been caught leaking information and being dishonest about it.

IMO, when I see their products, I know that they will be priced well and be more reliable than many similar priced alternatives. I wouldn't trust them with products that can track you, however. So depending on the product, they may or may not be recommended.
Not Anker, Eufy got caught leaking info. Anker is punished by proxy as an owner of the other company

There are no consolation prizes when it comes to your data. You're either leaking data or you're not. Your attempt at mitigating your exposure by opting out of a tracker for your wallet or keys is useless. I'm sure you will figure it out eventually but until then, im here to tell you you're fighting a forrest fire with a water-gun my friend. Preference or not it's misguided entirely.
I disagree, I may be leaking data to the giants of tech but I think that's different than leaking to anyone that makes a device or software. I use the same principal when I shop online. I'll buy from reputable companys but keep my cc number away from unknown sites. Good luck.

Eufy is the last company I would want to get a tracker from. They work hand in hand with the Chinese Communist Party. They lie, and double down on their lies. The worst company to buy products from. https://www.theverge.com/23573362...encryption
Do you think that companies who have your data which can be sold for money to China, Russia, darkweb, anyone with a lot of money, will not take the opportunity to make money from doing so? (like all your pics and comments and messages on Facebook, Instagram pictures, Google search history and map info, TikTok, phone pics, etc)

Let's be real, only some companies are getting caught doing it. The rest are too slick and smart for now. There is no privacy and all your activity on phones, TVs, internet, and the like is documented and sold. Whether it be the actual data or just access to all the data, it's out there for money. You just aren't aware of it.

You not buying this product will do what? Not let you be tracked by China? Is that your thought? Is that what you're concerned about?

Do you own a phone? Sorry, that's tracked, and that info easily accessible by China.

Do you own a car? Again tracked. Again accessible data for China.

How about you just walking down the street? Cameras everywhere now, even Eufy security cameras. You're definitely being tracked and China can find you.

Are you in a rural area living off the land with no phone, no TV, no internet, no car? Bad news, satellites up in the sky are flying around watching you, tracking you, and sending that data to China.

Maybe if you are in a cave, underground, no devices, no electronics. Perhaps safe and not being tracked for now.

Question really is for me - what are you hiding from China and why are you hiding from China?

Let me tell you something, if I lost my wallet, and I could have someone in China tell me where it is - HELL YES, THANK YOU CHINA!

Eufy is made by Anker and I don't know why SD thinks Anker is in the pedigree as an Apple products specifically their chargers and power banks. No different than any other Chinese brand.
Well years ago they were one of the few Chinese brands on Amazon that would actually warranty products no questions asked. Which is how they stood out from all the other Chinese brands.

All that apple garbage is made in the factory next door anyways.

Is the battery replaceable or rechargeable?
No, Card is designed within a non-replaceable and non-rechargeable battery which can last up to 3 years

This is a big disadvantage over the AirTag.
How many of your inexpensive electronics you bought 3 years ago are still being used. Most people don't even keep their cell phones 3 years before upgrading. I bet we won't even be using our current AirTags in 3 years because apple will come out with something better.

Already have one for my wallet. Works as advertised. $5 cheaper each over buying a 4 pack of AirTags. Think I'll buy one to easily toss (and find) in my luggage.

So if it uses the find my network- does it have the same limitations as AirTag where you can't really share an item (like car keys) between multiple people?
"Share this AirTag" is an upcoming feature coming with iOS 17. So that limitation will go away thankfully.

I stopped buying crappy junk gadgets long time ago. Cheap gadgets break quickly. It's a waste of money.

That why I'm being conscience about new purchases. Looking at my desk, I have plenty of electronics that are 3+ years old. My Logitech Bluetooth mouse is 5+ years old, Sony Original 1000X is 5+, Airpods Pro 3+, Anker battery pack 6+, etc etc

I've been using the Apple airtags for almost 2 years now. AirTags have such a low technical requirement (basic bluetooth) that I guarantee it will be supported for a long time. FindMy service is integral to Apple's hardware. Unless they update the whole product line up to implement a completely different technology, AirTags will continue to be supported.

Stop buying junk gadgets.

This is the main reason I avoided this and the tile card tracker and went with pebblebee. Just another thing to throw in the landfill once the battery dies. The pebblebee has a rechargeable battery at least.
Tile has a recycling program and my state NY now has local recycling. My last one lasted 3 years so its like a few cups of starbucks waste if you dont recycle it. OTOH everything Apple makes is e-waste too.

I bought a AirTag knockoff that works with Find My on Temu for about $6. Works great aside from not having the directional U1 chip.
