Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

Call 833-428-1765 for Costco TMobile and you don't even have to go to the store at all. I did this deal on Sunday.

Didn't get any paperwork about Costco gift card. Is it just in email? TIA
According to Reddit, Costco promos changed recently and no longer give paperwork for registering for the gift card; it should come automatically. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/..._my_phone/

No you can't (assuming things haven't changed since the last time I did a similar trade-in back in February). Their system will flag that the trade-in phone is not paid off, and it will block it. If you want to trade it in, pay the balance off first. (If you're getting bill credits, paying it off early will not stop the credits.)
Appreciate it! Just checked, thankfully the credits ended last month lol. 4 free phones again babyy

What's the cheapest phone I can buy to trade in? Best one I've seen so far is $13.75 on Amazon for a TracFone https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1

I traded in my tmobile iphone 13 pro max to Apple without paying it off and it was fine, I just have to continue to pay it until it ends. Maybe tmobile trading works differently?

That looks to be the cheapest. My friend bought something similar last year and it worked.

you have to pay it off if you're trading within T-Mobile. No need if you trade with bestbuy, Samsung, google...

I've got a family member using a Samsung A32. Based solely on Googling, this Motorola is not an upgrade. Anyone with real-world experience using both phones care to chime in?

How is free not better thank $199? And if you do it at Costco you make money. All you give up is any phone any condition. So any broke ass flip phone will do.
Quote from joshythegreat18 :
$199 is more than $0. If purchasing at Costco, this is also a moneymaker, which is better than paying $199.

The Edge+ is the better phone, but it's also much more expensive, even at $199.
i will also confirm 199>0.

i think main point becomes:
-much better phone
-no "2 year contract"
-not everyone has line eligible for upgrade or add a line

if this was the E+ 2022, then perhaps luke warm.

just my 2c

I traded in a phone at the Costco kiosk during the last Edge 2022 promo back in January, it was no problem to do it there. Towards the end of last year, the mobile kiosks at Costco run by Membership Wireless (IIRC) were removed, with actual dedicated T-mobile kiosks at a fewer number of stores.

The T-mobile rep who handled my trade-in even worked mostly at a regular T-mobile store, and occasionally at the Costco kiosk. She was well aware of the Costco-specific perks including the Costco rebate and the waived activation fee. The only glitch was there was some sort of system quirk trying to submit my specific trade-in phone (was a brand-new low-end phone that qualified then), she had to escalate to her manager at the regular store - which meant calling the manager by phone rather than having the manager there in person. But the manager answered quickly and so the issue was resolved as quickly as their systems could regardless.

Yes, assuming you already have a membership and you're willing to wait for the Shop card, I believe the rep told me 1-2 months on the Shop card.
not that fast... costco return window 90days
I submitted on 2.28, received card 07.15...

When I did a similar trade-in in February, I did 4 lines and got 4 separate Costco cards. (That promo was worth $150 for the Costco cards, so that was an easy $600 minus the taxes on the new phones.)
One last question. Does Costco take the trade. Or do you ship it to T-Mobile yourself like Best Buy does?

anyone in a situation like this...
Currently on simple choice with 10 lines (can't add any other lines)
I am definitely not leaving tmobile.
So I was thinking of doing this deal with the 4 line max limit.

The last iPhone deal was the $430 off via 24 bill credits on any iPhone device trade in.
Was thinking of doing this deal since it doesn't seem like there will be any iPhone deals with tmobile and older rate plans...

There's always that hope that tmobile will hook up simple choice customers with a killer deal...
