Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

Call 833-428-1765 for Costco TMobile and you don't even have to go to the store at all. I did this deal on Sunday.

As others mention, that is the correct tradein. What that means is you can trade in any phone, any model, and it will work. Just make sure IMEI matches.
Thank you for some peace of mind

So you have only two lines and did 2 upgrades for each line with the same promotion for a total of 4 new moto edge ? You may run into a mess. For each specific promotion, I believe you can only have one per line and there is a maximum of 4 per account. So you can only do two upgrades with this promotion with your two lines, not 4. If you have 4+ lines, you can do 4 times of this promotion.
You can do multiple different promotions on the same line but can't do multiple same promotion on the same line.
I have 4 lines. 4 trade in devices. The rep at Costco did line 1 and line 2 in the same order. After finishing that order, he did line 3 and line 4 on a separate order.

Not sure what's going on. Did he have to do each promo separately or should he have done all 4 in one order ?

I'll call tomorrow and see what T-Mobile says. Maybe they can fix whatever issue there is.

I have done Costco deals before with the big rebates and never had an issue. Sucks that they got rid of wireless advocates.

It's ok to do upgrades of multiple lines in the same order, as soon as it's one new device per line.

No, even four phones can be done with in same order to participate promotion, as long as select upgrade line and place order with EIP and trade in, promo will automatic link to each line.

I think the representative who helped you handle it is very good, it saves you and his time, you should even thank him for saving you time, instead of questioning what he did, he did it right. He did this very professionally for you.

Attached is my order in January promotion , I'm getting all of credit and lables, I traded in the phone as match the lables.

If you look at his screenshot, it shows monthly payment of $41.5 under each new device instead of $20.75 in your screenshot. I guess he should double check if the rep did 4 phones on two lines, instead of 4 lines.

Funny thing is, for current promotion, my representative order SIM card for one order, it show in my order same as edge monthly payment, Does it count I have to pay SIM card monthly $2x.xx something? It's not big deal since everything work as expected. If he really worry about that, can wait two weeks before send trade in phone in.

For whoever using this phone some recommendation.

1. Download adb tools, Download SDK Platform-Tools for Windows [google.com] SDK Platform-Tools for Mac [google.com] SDK Platform-Tools for Linux [google.com]

2. open "Setting - About phone - Build number", keep touch number about 5 - 7 times to unlock Developer mode.

3. open " Setting - System - Developer options - Debugging - USB debugging" turn it on.

4. Connect to your pc, your phone will pop " Allow USB debugging?", hit allow,

5. Unzip the file you downloaded, I unzip it in the root directory of the C drive.

6. open 'command prompt' from you Windows PC[all of below for Windows, if mac and linux open 'terminal' ]

7. enter "cd C:\platform-tools" [ this is in my case, enter path for your folder if different folder in your case]

8. enter "adb devices", it should come back result like "
* daemon started successfully
List of devices attached
XXXXXXXXXX device"

9. enter "adb shell"

10. copy all of command unless you want to use Specified carrier apps, paste and hit enter from your keyboard.

FYI, if you want to use t-mobile app, remove any command relate with tmobile, if you want use verizon apps, remove command relate with verizon. etc. all of apps doesn't show in you phone but it run in your phone, These are the apps that come with the manufacturer. in the command I don't remove my t-mobile unlock app, because I will use it when I need to fully unlock network lock with t-mobile, it has be fully pay off EIP and using t-mobile sim 40 days to unlock in the app.

There will be some help. And avoid some pop-up windows that you can't find the app when using a sim card that matches the carrier.

When does this deal expire? I'd love to ditch an old apple 5S sitting in a drawer and maybe a Motorola from like 2017!

2 devices ok I assume to upgrade? I have 5 lines.

Expiration date is not announced. Usually they just end it without any notice. You can upgrade 4 lines max.

better to do it sooner rather than later
can end at any moment.
I'd buy some cheap flip phones or blackberry devices.
in store at Costco seems to be the best method in order to avoid the $35 fee per upgrade that tmobile charges. Also, you can get a $75 Costco card in the mail after a few months.

I posted this on the other thread for this phone, but just so everyone here is aware, moto is not known for timely updates and has in the past not delivered on promised updates. With this particular model, they have already changed how long they will provide updates (from 4 years to 3 years). Still the best phone you're likely to get for "free", but something to keep in mind.

Press release for this phone (https://web.archive.org/web/20220...ost?id=466) said:

"The device will also receive 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of bi-monthly security updates."

Security Update page (https://en-us.support.motorola.co...ity-update) for this phone says:

"Security updates will stop on August, 2025"

Costco for sure, got one right by work!

Looks like I can do 2 phones for both my 2 lines so that's good.

No need for flip or BB as no one wants a iPhone 5S…except this deal lol
