After filling, spit on your finger tip and put it on the overflow valve to see if it bubbles. Any bubble means the valve stem needs to be giggled to stop any leak. Works like a champ.
The usual manner to fill the tanks is put them in your freezer to chill and accept more propane before equilibrium.
