The reason 7900xt cards are staying over $700 is to goad consumers to buy up last gen. Nvidia also neglected to put more gddr in its lineup and keep gouging going. This is why there is plenty of stock on shelves. Consumers can hold onto gpus across systems up to 10 years since pcie will be backwards compatible for at least the next 8 -10years while the industry figures out another way to screw the consumer.

Man feels like a ton of cards have coil whine issues. Still the $750 price point for a 7900xt is really hard to pass up since I need a rig soon-ish. Might wait for a Sapphire version to drop a bit in price.

If you're going with Powercolor, I would at least get the Hellhound variant which is currently $750 too.

Powercolor is in general a well regarded brand. I don't know about ASRock's past cards general, but their Phantom 6000/7000 series cards seem to be well regarded too. I don't think you'll go wrong with either.

Also check what will fit in your case.

The asrock non oc has no coil whine.. did 30m stress test and all... new lineup coming out q1 24 so its unlikely there will be a big price drop on BF... as previous gen not selling well enough to move up timetable.

There are some used ones for $660. At that price, I pulled the trigger. Amazon is good for returns if it doesn't work out, and I have Game Pass Ultimate so I'll get Starfield anyway.

750$ for shappire nitro + rgb 7900 xtx is a good price, anything more then that for the top models is financial grape. They can kiss both cheeks with those prices.
