These are really good for letting you know if a child/pet /person with a mental disability is going to leave the house or walk into an area with a pool.

These arent smart devices. They are simply a reed switch sensor that detects if the magnet moves and sounds the alarm. There is a toggle switch but no BT, Wifi, etc.

Also the MSRP is exaggerated, yes they are a brand name, but they used to sell a 2 pack of generics at the dollar store, looking online the typical price is now $1.50-$2 per unit., it definitely was never worth "$19"

But can you turn these on and off from a phone?

It would be highly inconvenient and impractical to have to physically go to each one to turn them off / on.

Yes, but what if someone was breaking in? If you silenced it from your phone, you might not know. Sometimes burglars ignore alarms because they plan on being in and out quickly.

I want to say no, I looked at Amazon and someone asked "can I turn these in when I leave" and someone replied "not really. They're either on or off and will sound until connection is within .5 inches". Someone else did mention there is a 30 second delay. But I didn't see anything official.

Wish I bit on the Simplisafe deal a ways back. Darn

You can buy these at the dollar tree or harbor freight...it's like the same basic alarm.

NO! they are "wireless" but no phone app nor any connectivity.
