I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

my understanding is:

the price of phone in store with port is $100.
but u need to add:
+ 35 in act fee.
+ additional 60 in tax (80 in store v 20 on line).
+ additional 10 in plan (minimum plan : 50 in store v 40 on line).

in the end. cost more in store ~280 v online ~260
thanks. so no need to do instore I guess.

This may be a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway. Does anyone have this phone as well as the a54? If so which do you prefer and why

ty 4 reply. and good summary/recommendations.

i find myself in between the casual user & super user.
lol.

i too can probably get by with the a54.
(will almost never: game, or use stylus or the desktop mode).

but will always crave the FS specs of the E+

as u say
The E+ i think will get 3 android and 4y of bi-monthly updates.
the a54 1 year more on each (?)
so longer a54 support yes, but not by much.

besides in 2 years will probably get the next deal

I'm typing this on my 2022 Edge+. I switched from a OnePlus 7T. I prefer the fingerprint sensor inscreen on the 7T as opposed to the sensor being in the power button on the Edge+. I also prefer the placement of the volume buttons on the 7T (about 60% up the left side of frame) as opposed the Edge+ volume buttons on the top right of the right side of frame. I haven't really tested the camera out much yet but it's seemed fine the little I have used it. Charges fast and battery is much better than the used up one I had in my 7T. Been pretty pleased with the Edge+ but I do miss certain things about the 7T.

agree. we get used to some things . only natural. loved the lg V series phones. havent been able to find anything that was "as ideal" as that series. one thing or another will bug me. lol.

the E+ seems to be quite large. only natural the buttons may be "in convenient" placed.

on the a54. the V + - buttons are so close to power. a little distance would have been nice

I have this, and it's solid and snappy. Only downside is lack of security updates Motorola/Lenovo as well as Android 13 update. The same goes for pretty much all other Motos.

Yes. I bought it back in February, only one security update, that was it. You can look online in the Motorola Lenovo forums on this topic. People complain about lack of updates.

That's normal Edge uses slower Mediatek 1050 and half storage this deal is Edge Plus 2022 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which samsung S22 uses.

Would you have happened to try the pixel 7? If so which would you have chosen? Edge+ or the Pixel 7. Thank you.
