I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

I got a new sim card from total by Verizon, but they said that the IMEI of the Moto phone is not compatible on the network, so they won't activate the new sim card. I even entered the IMEI on their online checker tool and same error. Not sure what to do anymore Frown
It doesn't work on Spectrum Mobile after unlocking. Any call I make would go right to Spectrum customer service so I asked them and was told that only Moto G Power works from Motorola. If you want an Edge+ you'll have to buy directly from their web site. Google Pixels are fine. Their IMEI compatibility checker will tell you that it's supported or not. I suppose there's something special about the Boost Edge+ 2022 hardware that's not compatible with some carriers.

Edge+ 2022/2023 support both wired and wireless ready for mode. You may try to use wired ready for to bypass the copyright issue. You can also use them in ready for mode by connecting to a PC.
Cool. I just checked the compatibility chart and it does wired and wireless. Nice to have both options. I only used Miracast wireless display with my Samsung. If I get this Motorola, I guess the wired has better chance for some video streaming sites because it really doesn't effect copyright as it is a wired cable. I got an Arzopa portable monitor. I think ready for would work really well with the Motorola phone and portable monitor.

This is what I did to get a Visible sim card before I even received this phone (I know it's a different company, but still Verizon tower. Also, my Boost Edge+ IMEI says it's not compatible on Visible as well). I'm sure it says it's not compatible because the IMEI is associated with a Boost phone.

With that said, I googled "boost edge+ 2022 imei" and got an IMEI from Swappa that passed the IMEI checker. Received Visible sim in 2 days. I still do not have the Edge+ 2022 phone, but I have my unlocked S10 that also says is not compatible with Visible. Followed the directions to activate on Visible. when I inserted the Visible sim into my s10 it said the carrier needed to do an update. let it update and it rebooted. I had some minor struggles probably because i was also porting my # in from TW, but in the end, my "incompatible" S10 now works on Visible. I don't see any reason why i won't be able to just put this sim in the Edge+ 2022 and have it working, or even replicate these same steps with TW or Visible. After unlocking it of course. May even have to google TW apn settings and add them. I'm sure it can be done, somehow. Good luck!

What do ya know?. I followed the WIKI and now have a new phone that works on Visible. Only took 3 days start to finish. I did pay with a CC through PayPal also turned OFF the auto pay in the plan.

If anyone could point me to a good root method that would be nice.

Thanks again everyone for your helpful posts.

I was able to just pop the sim from my Tracfone Moto G Power 2022 into this phone and data worked and a call went through. I was worried because the last time I tried to move a sim I had to call to get phone to recognize sim again. Put it back and phone was all fine.

I was wondering for that 40 bucks metro deal . It should be 6 month this month. Did your unlocked itself already ?

which one? lol....2 many to keep track of

currently i have only 3 M phones on hand
earliest unlock is 11/13

metro:
a54_#1 5/13 > 11/13
n20 5/22 > 11/22
a54_#2 6/21 > 12/20

i had a g400 that was to unlock on 10/19

Ya that's what I thought too but recently they allow again to bring GSM phones with their GSM sim cards. When I tried the check it says compatible on tracfone GSM network. Then it tells you to buy a new GSM sim card
I should have replied to you again I tried my sim from my Tracfone and it worked in the Moto. I only tried some data and called my other phone. I don't know if there would be issues later if I leave it in. Guess I'll find out after I use Boost service up.

I think somebody said that they were able to unlock their phone by paying only $1.50. Does somebody know or remember that eBay seller name?

desbloquealord is $1.95. Very fast too with my experience. He currently has an auction up for just this model too.

You are assuming that they are gonna give a refund. Sadly that is not always the case. I had a return to sender a while ago. They never refund my money. Made a few calls asking for my refund for which they always say you will get it within a few days. Had to do a chargeback to my money back.
There are a few post on reddit Boost Mobile that had the same issue.

I would be on top of this everyday
Good Luck
Thanks for letting me know your case outcome. I will keep eye on it, and charge back is my last option.
