Folks, please do not follow in these footsteps. Buy a fan controller for your ceiling fans and keep these dimmer switches for what they're supposed to be for: your lights. Like db999md said, it would be a current/voltage mismatch. This can damage the fan motor + potentially cause a fire. More expensive to replace whole circuit or the fan itself if you f**k it up than to cheap out on switches. A smart fan controller or 15A relay switch is designed for that use case (speaking for the states, dunno about elsewhere).

Friends don't let friends buy wrong switches!

As an aside, yes have these and the single pole dimmers all over my new house and got more during Prime Day. Great switches! Would prefer a rocker style instead though. Note that the dimming LEDs that show you the brightness level are only on the MAIN 3-way switch, not the satellite switch (the one without a neutral).

FYI, with this kit, you have to replace both existing switches to make it work. if you get the non-dimmer version of 3-way switch kit, you can replace either one of the existing switches.

All of the Kasa line are WiFi based, so I'm not sure what "or Wi-Fi ones" means. What switching function are you looking to make smart? This deal is specifically for a 3 way dimmer situation, where you have existing 3 way "dumb" switches and want to swap them out for smart switches. Note that "3 way" refers to lighting switched from 2 locations (i.e. top and bottom of a staircase for hallway lighting, or a room with 2 doorways where you can switch on overhead lighting from either doorway), not 3 as the name would imply.
