People kill carp and they are beneficial. Even edible... Like bowfin, delicious if you know what you are doing. People just make up anything in the fishing world.

Follow laws and eat what you want.

LM and SM bass are usually not eaten, just sport fished and released. Why do you think restaurants don't typically serve LM or SM bass..
