Clubs make a difference for someone with a 5 handicap

Clubs REALLY make a difference for someone with a 20 handicap.

Go get a bag fitting, best $150-$250 you will ever spend if you are serious about getting into golf.

Spending $1k on a set of clubs without ever swinging them seems really really silly to everyone who actually golfs quite a bit. Now if you go and swing these locally and you like them, then it is a great price.

Im sorry but if you're a 20 handicapper a fitting is a waste of money. Get a length and stiffness that fits your body profile and swing speed. Stay away from non-game improvement clubs or the pro/tour models and you should be fine. Spend the money on lessons if you need them not fittings. If you're a 20+ HC you are probably not consistent enough to get benefit from a fitting.

I'm actually going in for a full bag fitting today at a golf shop (not brand specific). I'm about a 20 handicap too, and you should be hunting for "game improvement" irons. Essentially, any blade iron like this is for much better players than us.

I have had a set of these for years. Love them.
My brother in law traded his custom PXG irons after he hit my clubs on a couple holes and now plays these.
I do recommend getting fit for any set of clubs and these are no exception. Picking the correct shaft can make all the difference in the world.

Costco is selling the TM Stealth irons which are more forgiving and cheaper. The best value are the Callaway set of you like their brand. Even more forgiving.

Any anecdotal thoughts on which player these clubs are for? "Players Distance" seems like it could be for high handicap 20+ all the way to scratch based on the different reviews i've seen.

The p790 are one of the best game improvement clubs… little hotter distance wise than most player clubs but nothing outrageous. Surprised Costco has these… solid deal on clubs you can bag for a long time.

If you think a bogey golfer can't benefit from a club fitting, it's been way to long since you were a bogey golfer.

That's my thought as well. Looks like the 2023 model is coming out which also why they may be such a good price.

Great deal. Does Costco ever have deals on senior shaft irons? The Callaways seem to be regular and stiff- just looking for something at a slower swing speed.

This is a great deal for standard everything. If that suits you, then pull the trigger.

I got fitted, tried these, liked them a lot, but hit the Stealth better and needed to get the shaft cut/stiff shaft. That was literally a day before the Stealth deal dropped ... If I didn't need a totally different shaft setup, I'd have way more regret 🤣
