This is around $100 lower than the recent FP deal which had 32GB RAM.

If I'm not wrong, you can't use that coupon with the 10% sign up discount code.

You're welcome, though.

Thank you for attaching this. For some reason my browser isn't stacking these right now.
So, if my math serves me right, the total should now be $1543.50 (after the new discounted price from Dell and stacking all these coupons).
This makes this deal even sweeter!

I think this is a genuinely decent deal. It's definitely for gamers rather than content creators or professionals, but this is a hell of a price for a 16GB upper-tier laptop GPU. If you were someone with an external display like an Asus ProArt this would be a heck of a deal for a professional machine as well as for gaming.

The HP Omen that was floating around for $1699 had a 1440p display with good DCI-P3 and sRGB color-accuracy and 32GB RAM, and my brother picked up one of those for his videography work. I think if the Omen is still available then it's still a better option for an editing machine, but this is a nice price regardless.

Yes, it's still available for $1599 now: https://slickdeals.net/f/16799837-hp-omen-17-17-3-qhd-165hz-i9-12900h-rtx-3080-ti-32gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1599-99?src=category_page

And yes, like you said it's better suited for creators and some games. For higher frame rates and advance games, this is more suitable. Also, Alienware X-series' build quality is skies above Omen's.

I ordered this laptop a couple weeks ago and cancelled it after seeing one in person at microcenter. I changed directions and bought the MSI Raider because it's build quality was outstanding

I don't know anything about their Laptops, but I do know that Alienware is a bit of a joke when it comes to desktops. If they can skimp on something -they do. Knowing what I do about their desktops I assumed their laptops would be in the same vein (thermally challenged let's say).

The only negative I've heard about the Omen is that the hinge could be sturdier and the screen wobble is sub-optimal for the price. Cooling on it is just-about best-in-class.

That said I think a 1080p display is a better choice for laptops in general. People seem to like 1080p at 24-inches, which has similar pixel-density to 1440p at 27-inches -1080p at 17-inches is perfectly crisp, and pushing that to 1440p or 4k just makes your machine have to work harder. Native 1440p displays don't scale perfectly with 1080p content typically as well.

I just bought the Asus M16 4070, would this be a better overall laptop for desktop replacement? I plan on using this with the lid closed most of the time and just run the HDMI/DP ports to my two 34" 3440x1440 monitors. Im hoping to get max refresh rate, the M16 is having issues getting to 144hz via TB4 or HDMI

I am still waiting for my system to be delivered. I ordered it on July 2nd and it says it will be delivered by July 27. I highly doubt.

Can you please elaborate exactly what issues you are facing. Or pain points. Thanks
