Arrived 3 days after purchase...never had a laptop that scored over 200s in user benchmark. So far no issues just the transition from AMD CPU to Intel CPU is really noticeable. (The multicore performance of AMD CPUs are just better. I just need a gsync monitor to really see what this can do, got one coming it will update. But just running the laptop on its own this unit is a powerhouse and at this price point I'm really surprised there aren't enough reviews out there because it's such a damn competitive laptop.

How are the thermals on this vs the Legion 7/7i? Is HP using thermal pads like the Lenovo's or some other setup?
Laptop these days are pretty insane in terms of performance. I just got one similar to this except it was RTX4070 and 16GB instead of 32GB. It's leaps and bounds faster than my old 8700k with 1080ti.

The legion will outperform in thermals given it has 4 thermal vents vs the omen 3 vents. The omen uses less but larger heat pipes and has a smaller plated chamber isolating the gpu and CPU temps giving more open space for the other internals. The legion in the other hand chambers a massive portion of the mobo to cool and yes also has padding Wich the omen doesn't have. That said the unit I got handles heat considerably well and the omens performance control allows ez undervolt tuning without having to go into bios. I have yet to hit over 90+ degrees on warzone and diablo running on full performance...I'm really diggin this laptop a budget beast for sure! but one thing I'm not feeling in the Intel CPU, you really notice the difference between intel vs AMD CPUs in terms of multicore processing. AMD just slaps on that front.
