No personal experience, but I've heard that 3m is the best in terms of electrical tape, and that it may be worth a premium price by being a better product (specifically very sticky). Can anyone comment on this, or any specific product that has worked well for you?

I've used 3M to Harbor Freight stuff. It REALLY depends on your application needs. The cheaper HF stuff worked just fine . But with winches and lights on the Jeep and such like that, uses the higher 3M stuff.
