the drawstring does NOT hold up your shorts,
it simply sets an outer limit to how effective
the elastic in the waistband will operate.
no fly lounge ware shorts are for occasional
outdoor use, like chores outside the house
and maybe running to the store for milk.
if you need to carry all the stuff you listed
then you'd be better off buying cargo shorts
which can often be found a few dollars more.

I think there's a happy medium for that level of EDC that doesn't require cargo shorts. Just a sturdy pair of actual walk shorts with belt loops and adequate side/back pockets.
