These Dyson sticks are nice until the battery ages out. After two years the vac had a considerable dip in runtime and not long after it became unusable for anything more than a few minutes of quick vacuuming.

Edited to reflect the fact this DOES feature an interchangeable battery.

I'm sure the batteries are a little better these days but the fact they haven't re-designed for interchangeable battery packs is clear planned obsolescence.
Many of them have an interchangeable battery now, even the v11 I purchased last year had an interchangeable battery when the older one I gifted away did not. They refer to them as click in batteries.

You're right, this one does have a click-in battery. For some reason I had to download the manual to find that info. Thanks.

V15 has been 550 on Costco on and off and I've heard it's quite a bit better for that increase.

I had a coworker get the v12 solely because of the on and off button.

I'm disappointed to never see a v12 refurb on eBay.

Oddly enough, the regular v12 that is still $649 shows a picture of the click in battery.

As in you can buy a new battery replacement off of Amazon and swap it out when yours starts starts deteriorating

Main reason we hopped in for $449 on Prime Day. V12 is Dyson's most arthritis-friendly cordless model thanks to the on/off button (and the lightest model). Couldn't believe you have to squeeze a trigger the entire time you're using it on the other models. Super happy with purchase so far for our small apartment. My wonderful wife absolutely hates vacuuming and she's already vacuumed twice since we got it. Had to ask her some questions only she'd know the answer to to make sure she wasn't a replicant.

I bought this last Black Friday on some special from BBB (rip) and it is absolutely great (apparently has a brighter laser now). I don't mind the bin size, as the thing is easy enough to use that i find myself reaching for it more often, thus less to get each time. My Miele canister has been collecting dust since this thing came around. I even brush my dog with the attachment. I promise I'm not a shill, this is just a very good product. Plus, it has the on/off button.
