My experience with gaming laptops is it will burn your lap while gaming, regardless of what brand it is. The cooling will never be as good as a desktop. Also, you'll only get max performance from the GPU if you keep the laptop plugged in. On battery, it will throttle.
Lenovo's online user manual said yes (trying to find link now, I closed it earlier)

Seems decent for a budget laptop. Prob gonna upgrade the ram, and the 350nit 45% ntsc screen seems livable for this price.

How are thermals? Could this thing actually sit on a lap or does this need a laptop stand to avoid throttling that 95w 3050?

So I bought this. Unfortunately returning it - mine has a dead "t" key on the keyboard. Otherwise it seemed like a pretty good unit. Screen looked nice. My unit had barley been used at all (prob also returned originally bc of the dead key). Battery was impaculate, SSD was healthy, pixels were all fine.

A little on the bulky heavy side for what I wanted too so I'm gonna watch for a 13/14" deal.

I bought and returned this last month as it sounded like a jet engine compared to the open-box Legion 5 Pro I kept for the same price (though the Legion was "Satisfactory" condition).

The afterburners turned to full speed on start up and then randomly with certain apps. Way too noisy for me. I did buy open-box excellent, so possibly something with my unit, however, when I had the Legion right next to me for noise comparsion, there was no way I could ignore the sound this thing generates. Other than the fan noise, it was nice laptop. Glad I returned it though, as I paid $655 for it just last month.

I got two of the 3050 TI Lenovos that look like this laptop from a previous Best Buy open box thing, and they are surprisingly quiet. Well, I've only opened one of them, but it was quiet. Maybe a thermal paste issue on your unit

My gripe is a tiny noise from the fans clicking on and off when the computer is idle. Going from zero rpm to barely moving. It's a tiny sound, but Lenovo should either leave it at 0 rpm or a really low rpm, and stop cycling between the two

The keyboard issue is easy to fix, it's just a bug. You can force shutdown the machine by holding down power for 30secs. Turn it back on and that should resolve the keyboard issue.

Hmm, no dice ☹️. I played with it some more - key isn't dead just requires a ton of force, and only registered like 1 in 10 hits
