Btw, I believe you can buy gift cards at airport (delta counter) and it codes correctly. Did this a few years ago.

None on my cards (including Delta Platinum). Granted, I recently spent about $3000 on flights so I don't think they need to encourage me to spend.

Usually with Amex offers, they have all sorts of qualifiers and limitations, and they're generally bogus. With airlines however, Amex will be able to pull your itinerary so they can verify if you bought tickets, gift card, upgrades, etc. If you're relying on the credit to post, I personally wouldn't risk trying to buy anything other than airfare.
I may hit airport this week and give it a try. Will report back.

Some may get lucky by adding lots of offers in order to get new ones to show up. I added 219 offers but this one didn't appear. I do this with offers expiring soonest.
