I bought two at $99. on what was probably a price mistake from Costco when a member her alerted to the deal. It was taken down in 2 hours. Free shipping too. Sold them each for $400. The thing with Bote is they are all about the heavy marketing, but are horrible with any warranty claim. They deny, delay, and tell lie after lie. This drop stich/high pressure seat has been out of stock on this model and another for 2 years with c/s telling people not in stock, but more coming next month. I know two fishermen using this same kayak, seats blew at the seams and no warranty replacement, but they continue to sell these complete. Avoid these Florida based liars. Go with companies that will take care of you: NRS, Aquaglide, Saturn, Sea Eagle, Advanced Elements.

These are much much better. The Tobin is extremely cheaply made. My buddy got one on clearance at Costco for 50 bucks and he still hates it. It tore his hands up because the included paddle is too short, and the kayak itself buckles in the middle under weight if you're a bit heavier, so you sit very low in it. This Bote kayak is more like a sit on top kayak because of the seat and the rigidity of the materials used.

Hope this helps.

My wife bought this with the intentions of using it with our 7 year old son and it turned out to be too small for 2 people. We did not add a second seat, just had him sit in front of her.
We ended up returning it to Costco and purchased a different Bote kayak.

Anyone have experience using something similar in the ocean? I've been wanting to get something to go fish 100yds or so offshore.
The ocean is different everywhere along the coast. What might be OK in one area, might not be in another.

With that said, 300' from shore isn't "offshore". Offshore is generally miles from the shore line. You are still considered inshore, very easily being able to see the beach where you launched. With that said, I'm sure you would be ok, assuming you are smart and pay attention to the weather and make sure you aren't drifting away. Know your limits, figure that out before you venture out…and wear a pfd!

Wondering if there is a throughout review on this one. Amazon only have 5 reviews and it doesn't looks that good.
There are a couple of reviews on YouTube. I watched them, convinced me it was worth a try and for reference I have $3k+ fishing kayaks, this will fit a different need for me.

I think you must be right. Five reviewers mention the seat and none of them talk about a separate purchase. But I can't get past this...
The seat is absolutely included along with a paddle. The paddle is not normally included based on their website, so probably a Costco only package.

Just buy the thing. If it didn't come with a seat (which it does), the return it to Costco.

Is this okay for standing? Have an inflatable kayak, have a traditional, but would love something to fly fish out of.

Should be fine. I've got one of their drift paddleboards and looked up this one before going that route. It's basically a board with the outer ring. Seen plenty of vids of folks standing on them.

Are these better than Tobin sports kayak that was much cheaper
Don't listen to the haters. The Tobin one is just as nice if not, better. It's built very well.

This is super slick, and you can't compare this to a 2 hour long price mistake from last month. Congrats to the very few people who are enjoying patting themselves on the backs in this thread. Smh

thank you so much. I need a 2 seater. It seems you can buy additional seats for this model
Not this one. They sell the 12 ft model that can accommodate two seats.

I bought this from Costco about a week ago for $499. Within a week of purchase, they drop the price to $299. I contacted Costco and they did a price adjustment for me. It looks to be very high quality, I plan to use it tomorrow, we'll see.
