It is self propelled. Only catch is that the tines are engaged when it is in motion unless you move the wheels on the axle to free wheel mode. Not horrible but a little annoying.

I received mine last week. This model is self propelled.
And this model operates in reverse. Reverse is up on the handle so you can change instantaneously to just back over a spot, versus the gear box model that you have to stop the tiller, then reach down and wrestle the gear in place to change to reverse, then stop, wrestle the gear again to go back to forward.

Anyone know of some day laborers who wants to start a new company tilling the neighborhood lawns near Mexico? I have a lot of tillers I can rent out to them on the daily or weekly. $50 a day.. or $200 a week. $500 deposit per unit.
So now slick dealers dilemma I have ordered the last three should I order this one as well is this better than the other ones including the champion rear?
