The upgrade from Tab S8 to Tab S9 is very tempting for $270 - AMOLED screen, water resistance, newer processor, and free storage upgrade. Sucks that the govt discount is only $30 though - I expected more from a preorder :/

Btw trade-in value for Pixel 7 is $400 for the Z Flip 5! If anyone got a good pixel 7 deal last year, this is a good trade with the free storage upgrade. Galaxy S10 also nets you $300 trade-in credit if you have one lying around.

Tho, i may hold out until next week in case Google Fi does one of those crazy 120 day service deals again with these new phones.

Edit: Pixel 6 Pro also $400 TIV, while Pixel 6 is 300. Not bad - seems like Samsung wants to take a jab at teampixel

There is essentially no difference between the S7+ and S9+, day to day use wise.

Agreed! I have had the battery protection(charging less than 85%) on since I bought it, and it still has a good runtime. I think the latest One Ui update actually helped with efficiency.

Same. I mostly just use it when traveling, so it doesn't seem worth it to get rid of it when it still works fine.

I am "upgrading" from the S8 Ultra to the S9+. The S8 Ultra screen is too big as you said, and I only did it for the AMOLED screen just like you. Happily paying to move down a size.

Having gone from an S6 to an S7 to an S8+ , I have mixed feelings. I went from the S7 to the + model just to get back to AMOLED.

I have gotten used to the S8+ and i LOVE the device for media consumption. but IMO it's still too small to be a laptop replacement but it's the perfect content consumption device and able to do some very light duty work.

the smaller 11" is nearly the perfect formfactor for reading e-books and PDFs.
