Note that Samsung adds sales tax on the original retail price of all items in cart, not considering any trade-in discounts or anything - that makes the total $240+$175 = $375 in CA

And I was making people aware that Samsung is only doing that because he's in California. I have the same items in my cart in VA ($50 for the phone after trade, $50 for the buds, $150 for the watch) and the after-tax total for all 3 is $266.xx, for a whopping $16 in tax. Samsung charges tax on the pre-discounted, pre-trade prices only because Cali and some other states make them. Most do not.

It's exactly the same when you do a trade in deal at Best Buy or anywhere else when you live in CA.

Preorder generic code is gone ?
*** It appears to be working now. May have been a temporary system glitch this morning ***

As of today, Q5B5WEBRES is no longer valid.
But if you go thru chat they'll use that code and apply it to the order.
Then you can go thru the cashback sites and PayPal to get the 9% and the 12%, and if you use a credit card with a cashback, 1%, 2%, 3%, etc., you can get that too.

Got myself an upgrade and new watch for the wife... I hope they'll accept the flip4 with the original screen protector that's delaminated.
Customer support said they will accept mine with a broken hinge.

Does Samsung accept LOCKED phones for a trade in? I've always assumed that the phone needed to be unlocked.
It isn't one of the requirements so it is fine to send in a locked phone.

https://www.samsung.com/us/att-tr...questions/

This is good to know. I'm pretty sure the Flip 4 I got back in February is a locked T-mobile one and all the T-mobile apps & things on there pre-loaded always annoyed me. I'll be glad to go back to a more factory experience w/ the Flip 5.

This is not true. You can pay off the device with TMobile and as long as the line stays open you get the credits every month. I have three devices right now paid for that I am still getting credits on for another 5 months. If you cancel service however you lose the credits.

Now with that said I agree the Samsung deal is better. You are not on the hook to maintain service, the device is unlocked, and you dont have to pay the upgrade fee at TMobile (unless you are lucky enough to have a Costco with a TMobile kiosk inside in which you get no upgrade fee and a $70 shop card in 8 weeks after upgrade).

Good info on going with a T-Mobile kiosk at a Costco. I Didn't realize they had a benefit in dealing with upgrade/trade-in there versus just doing it via the web.

Q5B5WEBRES is still very much valid, just worked on my end. It's 1 use per account so you'll need to create a new account to re-use it.

Tried to use it in a couple of different accounts this morning and it was not valid.
Others did too.
Perhaps it was a temporary glitch that's been fixed now.
I went thru chat and they were able to add it.

True, it can be used only once per account.

What is the "other phone" in the trade-in program?

I can trade in a old tracfone samsung a20 and get $200 off the preorder?

My flip 4 can not fully open ( hinge stuck), only 90degree open. Can I still trade in and get the "my device is eligible but is cracked" credit? Anyone knows? Thanks.
Your Flip4 is very likely still under the first year of Samsung warranty. If I were you, I'd get it repaired through their warranty before trading it in. Couldn't be more pleased with their warranty claims process. If you have Asurion centers nearby, good chance it'll be a same-day repair.

Case by case, I guess. I am just not a big fan of these foldable phones. More parts more complications and hard to fix. I had the flip 3 for about a year, Costco Verizon messed it up on the trade-in, so I ended up transferring to T-mobile and got most of the phone balance paid off, then, I traded my paid off flip 3 for S22(~$250 extra via Samsung), went back to Verizon(their call quality simply is the best). My flip3 had several issues that it couldn't be fixed. I don't think I would go back to any foldables at this point.
Hi. Can I have a question?
When T-mobile paid off your Verizon phone, did you have to stay with T-mobile for one year or two?
Thanks!

Flip 5 with flip 4 trade in and ultra tab 9 bundle. Wish it gave the 512 gb version instead of 256gb… stacked with the 50 off preorder, PayPal cb 9%, and 2% venture x.

Do you mean with Samsung Care+ or just the standard warranty? I think they are stiffing the regular warranty people.
