FYI.... AT&T is following T-Mobile .. Received this email from AT&T
As early as October 2nd, the AutoPay and Paperless discount for customers paying by credit card will change from $10 to $5 per line.

You currently have a credit card on file. If you'd like to continue receiving your $10 monthly AutoPay & Paperless discount per line, go to att.com/change or call us at 800.331.0500 to update your payment type to a debit card or bank account.

Want to continue using the credit card on file? No problem. We will continue to process your bill and payment as usual, now with a monthly $5 discount per line.

I voted up because this is useful information. Keep in mind you will no longer get CC points and perhaps more importantly, you might be giving up your phone protection plan via your CC.

My question is: which of these companies give you the discount for just having an acceptable (to them) form of payment on file vs. actually requiring you to pay from said form of payment?

From my understanding, Verizon requires you to store AND pay. T-Mobile? AT&T?

I was going to post this but you beat me to it!

My take is that it's just a thinly veiled $5 price increase. Gives me more incentive to check out other carriers including the smaller ones like Consumer Cellular and Mint. We've been with AT&T for more than 30 years and I feel they've been hosing us for most of that time. Using a healthcare provider discount, we pay $110 per month for two phones on unlimited plans (but we really don't use very much data).
