Model: Augason Farms Dehydrated Potato Shreds 1 lb 7 oz No. 10 Can
Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
The ingredients are identical except for the butylated hydroxytoluene added to the Auguson Farms can. The carton isn't sealed as well from air, but they'll last a couple years in an air conditioned environment, and they are a better value if you'll eat them in a couple years.

The box says "tastes better then frozen guaranteed". Why do I have a hard time believing that?

It's obviously subjective. If your favorite hashbrown is more hydrated like skillet potatoes, then you will prefer frozen. If you like crispier like Waffle House, then the dehydrated will be better than frozen.

Yeah. Sam's Club is a better deal. The Augason Farms are .45 cents per oz. The Idaho Spuds are .27 cents per oz. And the Idaho Spuds contain less sodium, but I don't want to buy another membership. I already have Costco, Walmart + and Amazon.

Honestly, if you are making hashbrowns with them, you'll probably want the salt for best flavor. It takes a lot of salt to make the best tasting potatoes.
Still lower cost and less concerning preservatives makes it a no-brainer unless you need disaster ready food supplies.
Not to poo poo this post, but this is basically the normal price for this can. I have these in the saved cart and price constantly fluctuates and goes up to a high of $13-15 then drops back to this price within a couple of days.
Not commenting on the quality, but do want to add perspective that if the price goes up, give a few days and it will drop again to this level.

If you are "waffling" over which can to try, go with the pancake mix. It's better than Cracker Barrel!! Thick fluffy amazing
