I own this game. It is really fun and easy to play. The game is part luck but mainly strategy and can be pretty cut throat. This is basically how it plays:
Each player has 3 empty bowls of Ramen that can fit 5 cards each maximum. If a player "eats" all 3 of their bowls then that signals the end of the game, giving the other players one last turn. There are flavor packet cards that you need at least one of in each bowl since these packet cards tell you what veggies or meats you need to collect to fill up the bowl and score the maximum amount of points. Far as how you get cards, you start with 4 in your hand and there is "the pantry" that always shows 5 cards face up for anyone to get. If one is taken then it is replaced with a random card. Each player can preform two actions per turn. The actions are: place an ingredient or flavor packet in a bowl, empty a bowl, refresh the pantry, grab a card from the pantry, or use a spoon. Here is where the cut throat stuff starts coming in - each player is given two spoons which they can choose to remove an ingredient from another players bowl and move it to their bowl or someone else. They are only given 2 spoons a game so you have to use these wisely. Also there are 2 special cards that can come up: chili peppers and nori garnish. These cards if they are in your hand or show up in the pantry on your turn you can put them in anyone's bowl that you feel and it does not count as one of your two actions (it's a free move). Chili peppers are -1 point each and garnishes are +1 but both can sabotage players bowls who are trying to get maximum points. This is where people start getting mad if they get ganged up on haha. The only defense you have against these cards is empty the bowl and start over, use your spoon, or you can use a fury flavor flavor packet to make all those chili peppers in your bowl +2 instead of -1s. This is what my wife did to me as one of her last moves of the game and ended up beating me because I was for sure I was going to win. All and all it is a pretty fun game that can be enjoyed with just 2 people or up to 5. Definitely worth the the price they are asking for. Also the packaging of the game is great. The cards inside actually come in a cardboard noodle box.
