Replacing cushions is a pain. I got frustrated and tossed one of my headphones out. I used 3rd party replacement was not a good idea #frustrationproblems
maybe i did it wrong. but i thought the replacement cushion was pretty easy. (1, tear the old one out of the headset, it is glued; 2, stick the new one on. I believe the replacement cushion was also relative cheap.

I see. Sounds simple for these headphones. Other ones like mine require more stretching and aligning the cushion band to replace them

Replacing pads on QC35ii was was easy. I just did not like the gap that replacement pads seem to leave behind, since they're smaller than the original pads.
Either way, waiting on Bose to deliver a product that can be connected to more than 2 bluetooth devices at once. It's a pain having to go into the app, or slide my button, to disconnect one bluetooth devices and bring another one in.
But that's kind of an edge case, I guess.
Not true. You can turn it off. Your cant variate it - choosing a level of ANC, but it absolutely switches from 0% to 100% via a button.
You can. Via the big button on bottom of left ear's speaker. Has 2 modes: "Aware" and "Quiet."
I've never used headphones that were designed for anc not suffer greatly when it's turned off. It's so hard to shop for non anc nowadays and when I turn it on I feel like I developed vertigo instantly.
I'm not familiar with these headphones, but it is aware mode akin to actually just turning ANC "off" or is it more like transparency mode on AirPods? I ask this because my headphones have all three and "off" is quite different than actually piping in the outside sounds so I can hear my surroundings clearly.
Despite trying many different troubleshooting methods, I could not get the microphone to be recognized by windows 11 via Bluetooth. Realtek audio. Had to return them. Works fine with windows 10. I called Bose and they told me they are not certified with windows 11. The speakers (audio) do work though, both windows 10 and 11.

They're just letting you know that cheaper prices are possible.
The "time machine" stuff is such an old and tired adage.
